Indoors Picnic
We invited Annette, Holgar and thier son (7 month old) Maxwell over to our neck of the woods so that we could go to one of the local parks.

Unfortuantely, the weather was against us - it bucketed down all afternoon.

Instead we decided to push the furniture back and lay the picinic blanket on the floor.

Mum had to put all the food on the table so I couldn't reach it, otherwise we all ate on the floor.

It was a great afternoon as Max and I had alot of fun eventhough he's not crawling yet.

Quiet Times

There's not much to report as we've been a bit boring and a bit under the weather lately.

After not having Tonsilitis for a long time dad has had it at least twice in a month so he hasn't been up for much mischeif.

Mum has also had a persistant cold since Easter so she's also opted for a quiet time.

I've had a mystery stomach irritation which has meant I've given everyone lovely presents in my nappies (including the nursery staff).  Besides that I've been my usual chipper self.

Swingers

I decided, due to the nice weather, to take mum and dad shopping and then go to the park.

We bought some summer gear for me (a hat, t-shirts and shorts).

Then we went behind the shopping complex to King George park.

It was so lovely in the sun that we stayed there for a couple of hours.

As we were walking out we discovered the toddler play ground.  It had a slide which I went down.  I didn't like that much.

However, the swing was fabulous.

Happy Easter!!!!!!

Today is Easter Sunday and I got a chocolate Easter egg.

Despite mum and dad getting their own Easter eggs, I think they are going to eat the chocolate egg but I don't mind as I am having fun ripping the box apart.
:)
Beach Party!

Today, Mum and dad decided to enjoy the beach.

Dad searched for the 'closest sandy beach to London' and the result was Camber Sands which was theoretically 2 hours drive away. It is near Hastings.

So on the first day of the Easter long weekend we drove down to see what it was like.

We were making good progress when we hit the holiday traffic. It was also the day tripper traffic as it was 25C outside and fantastically sunny.

It took us about 3 1/2 hours to get there.

We weren't sure we'd arrived as we were confronted with a tiny beach hut selling nick knacks and take away food and bar/grill type restaurant. However, these two items which would normally be in the middle of no where were surrounded by hundreds of parked cars.

A tiny sign confirmed that we'd arrived - ' Welcome to Camber Sands'.

We watched as people tried to get into the £15 a day car park only to realise it was full (this had spots for approx 200 cars) and then the make shift car park in the paddock across which was charging £5 a day (aprox 300 spaces there).

Even along the road for a half a mile either direction was full of parked cars.

Luckily for us a car pulled out of the verge and the space was big enough for us to fit in.

Parked we began to load up for the walk to the beach.

Mum had packed the night before and managed to get everything (including towels) into two bags (a back pack and cooler bag) and my changing bag. This was advantageous as dad was carrying me in the baby carrier (the pram would be impossible on the sand).

As it was 2.30pm and mum and dad hadn't had lunch they decided to splurge and go to the bar and grill for lunch. Dad had scallops (which were sautéed in a Spanish sauce) and mum had fish and chips. I had some of mum’s chips.

They were so taken by the food that they decided to take a pamphlet for the 'hotel' which was attached.

They might come back and stay overnight.

After lunch, we trudged up the sandy hill past the beach hut. Mum and dad had thought to get me a bucket and spade however, after seeing the queue (approx 50 people long) they declined.

We hit the top of the sand dune and took a long breath. As far as the eyes can see were people. There wasn't much space between each family.

Fortunately, a family was just leaving so we quickly grabbed their spot. It was ideal as it was close to the water but far enough away that the sand wasn't wet.

Then it happened.

Mum started spraying on this white gloop all over me. Then she rubbed it in.

After that I was allowed to play in the sand.

I had a great time. So much so I decided to cover myself from head to foot.

Just before we left mum and dad decided that the only way to get the sand off was to wash me in the sea water.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Did I scream? Oh YES!!!!

You would tooo! It was sooooo cold.

Despite this dunking there was still sand in places where the sun doesn’t shine. ;)

Bang Bang

Dad decided to film me whilst I was playing (unfortuantely the file is too big for this website).

I might just become a builder, like my uncle Craig.

Alternatively, I might look into animal welfare.
Playing with mum

I decided to sit beside mum and show her (and Acorn) how to play with the shape ball.
