Have You Got Everything?!
Mum and dad have been asked by various people if they've bought anything for the nursery (and if they've set one up yet).
They have been buying but aren't going to give me my own room (well not straight away).
And they have been pretty good in that they've not been extravagant in their purchases. They've also been acquiring bits and pieces for me over the months so that there wasn't a last minute panic (and big expense).
So far they have:
- A pram with basket, 6 month + seat, and baby car seat (interchangeable)
- A cot (with built in changing table to save on space)
- 150 newborn nappies (plus 75 of the next size up)
- Clothes of various styles and sizes from 0000 to 0 (though we'll see if its enough)
- Sleeping bags (various sizes)
- A travel nappy carrier bag with change mat
- A bouncy chair (to rock me in)
- Towels
- A baby monitor (so that they can make sure I'm behaving whilst they relax in the lounge room - as if I'm going to let them!)
- Plus a variety of sample products (all for joining various baby websites)
However, they have yet to get:
- A baby bath
- A baby sling/carrier (for dad to carry me around in; its his turn once I'm born.)
- High chair (not needed until I can sit up and throw food)
- Toys, mobiles, etc (all the fun stuff which I want to play with)
These last few things shouldn't break the bank if mum doesn't go silly on my toys. (I hope she does!)

How To Know It’s Your Third Trimester
Mum decided after pursuing various mum's websites she's now got a Top Ten of sure signs that a person has advanced to the third trimester.
- You haven’t seen your feet in some time; which may be a blessing. (Mum's not quite there yet)Whilst attempting to put on or take off shoes, you sound like Bill Cosby’s description of a man with a potbelly doing same. (Or in mum's case, she sits on a seat and puts her foot on her knee)
- The belly button has disappeared/popped out. Ting! (Mum only has a dimple now).
- Your body makes odd noises you cannot control i.e. you have newfound gas expelling talents.
- Your belly is finally sticking out past your monstrously large prego boobs (If you were lucky enough to get those) and you would rather stay home than face the horrible discomfort known as wearing a bra. (Again, mum's not yet there with this one)
- You’re not comfortable standing. Or sitting. Or lying down.
- You visit the local swimming pool a lot. While doing a dead man’s float in said swimming pool, your oldest son/nearest child says your belly looks like an island, and can he put his diving rings on them for a minute? (Unfortunately for mum there isn't any swimming pools near us so she can't try this one out)
- People you know stop and say 'Wow, your big!' with a shock on their face that they can't hide. (Isn't that supposed to happen?)
- You spend around £50.00 on the contraption known as a “maternity support belt” to help you haul your belly around. (Mum is definately contemplating buying one of these)
- You start counting backwards to make yourself feel better. Just 10-12 more weeks to go! Yippee!
- You know/visit all the self help/advice websites (not to mention the books and magazines) available for 'your condition' and visit them daily just to make sure you are still on track. (I believe this will now be the future for mum).
Although, mum hasn't got all ten she has definately advanced to the third trimester.
I think she's going to see how many she can tick off and how quickly this can be done.

Coupons
Well things are progressing and changing in our house.
How, you might be asking?
Well, besides the obvious physical changes to mum, there's been a strange fasination with sales and discount coupons.
Apparently, having children is a costly affair. To compensate for this mum and dad have been keeping an eye out for discounts in all forms (sales, 2 for 1 offers, and discount coupons).
A prime example of this bargain hunting was a sale at a local supermarket particularly slashing prices for baby products. Mum and dad went there and found hordes of families scrabbling over the remaining items on the shelves; most of the stock had already been bought.
Despite the lack of stock, money was spent on nappies, wipes and other changing items. However, mum and dad were disappointed as they'd hoped there'd be more substantial items i.e. car seats, feeding chairs, etc which were of good quality at a discount.
Oh well, the hunt continues.

Up, Up And Awwwaaaaayyyyy.
It's a bird, a plane, no its....
PEANUT!!!!
Yes, that's right.
I'm flying. We'll we're actually jetting off. I can't fly though I do a mean backstroke.
The jetsetter that I am is going to Melbourne to say "G'day to the relos" (that last bit is Aussie language).
Mum's got a doctors certificate to say we can go.
I think mum is a little nervous. Not about flying but about how I'm going to behave. It is a long flight (approx 25 hours) in uncomfortable seating with all those people.
I, on the other hand, am extremely excited. All those new sounds and introductions to my family.
OHHHHH.
I guess for mum's sake I'll behave. Mmmmm, maybe I wont.
Oh, I love being unpredictable. ;-)

It's a ... Peanut.
That's right. I've been asked to do a naked photo session.
I know, I know. So young and asked for such a revealing expose of me is well, shocking.
It's not for art. Thank goodness.
Apparently, the reason is to see if I'm a boy or a girl.
Yep, that's right. At such a young stage they are going to label me.
Yet my fans are asking and unlike lady Ga Ga ambiguity isn't making me more alluring.
Though I have to admit it, it was fun trying to allude the camera to persevere my modesty.
Finally they did succeed.
The result is that according to the stenographer I am a...
BOY!
It's not that my parents don't believe the professionals but they like to keep an open mind. To this end they've told people but have put a caveate on this knowledge i.e. stenographers have been mistaken before. They really don't mind either way but don't want others to get their hopes up.
The reaction to this news by our friends and family has been one of excitment. Though one set of friends informed us that they were going to 'buy pink clothes no matter what as they didn't want to stereo type the kid'.
Mum's reaction to this was to encourage them to as she will dress me up in it anyway.
I personally think this might be her revenge on me because I wouldn't let her eat any chocolate.
Well, they say you can choose your friends but not your family. :)

So Simple A Child Could Do It!
Mum and dad decided to get some of the major pieces - Cot and Pram. Both were billed as the most 'user friendly', 'lightest' and 'compact', etc. in all the reviews.
This sounds super except both items came unassembled.
Oh yeah! Let the fun begin!
Oh yeah! Let the fun begin!
Now it would've helped if the travel cot had instructions because despite their DIY ability their nous was obviously lacking in this area.
For instance, they put the base down but couldn't get the sides to lock. After several different attempts they finally went online to locate a set of instructions.

Apparently, they needed to lock the sides first then the base.
Oh. So obvious!
Then there was the pram.
It was only later that they discovered that this were additions for the removable seat.
The seat had not been sent so dad had to call the firm and ask for it.
